After thirty years, Hospitality America names new CEO. Hospitality America, a leading hospitality operating and consulting company, is excited to announce a significant transition in its leadership team. After an illustrious 30-year career as the Founder and CEO, Chris Cargen has decided to step down. Mr. Cargen will now assume the newly created position of Chairman of the Board of Directors. As Chairman, Mr. Cargen will lead a newly formed Board of Directors. This transition symbolizes Hospitality America’s unwavering commitment to sustained growth, operational excellence, and forward-thinking leadership.
Ben Campbell Named New President and CEO.
Ben Campbell named as the new President and CEO. A 15-year veteran of the hospitality industry, Mr. Campbell will oversee the continued execution of the company’s strategy. Ben’s journey in the hotel industry started as a night auditor at the front desk. Acceding into numerous roles from revenue management to Regional Director of Operations. And most recently as Chief Operating Officer of Hospitality America. His acumen, commitment and passion for success combined with his industry experience demonstrate his readiness to lead Hospitality America.
Under Ben’s dynamic leadership as COO, Hospitality America has thrived towards its growth goals. Opening a new hotel in 2022, securing Hospitality America’s first asset acquisition, and overseeing four new hotels in development. Meanwhile, adding key executive positions to support future growth and the company’s award-winning culture. Ben’s strategic vision and dedication to excellence will continue to position Hospitality America as an industry leader.

Chris Cargen’s Legacy in the Hospitality Industry: A 30-Year Journey
Chris started Hospitality America by assisting in the developments of the Hampton Inn Johnson City, TN and the Hampton Inn Coconut Grove/Coral Gables, FL. Founded in 1995, Hospitality America has consistently earned recognition from Hotel Business Magazine as a top 100 hospitality management company. Our hotels have earned numerous guest service, design and development awards from Hilton and Marriott.
“Chris was ahead of his time. After opening our first hotel in 1995, Chris devised and installed an internet router schematic providing our guests access to free Wi-Fi. He always found ways to make our hotels true differentiators,” said partner and hotelier Bo Aughtry. “I thank him for his many years of partnership and wish him the best of luck in his new role as Chairman.”.
Hospitality America has managed over 30 hotels throughout its history and currently manages 19 hotels, which is the most in the company’s history.
